Byron Fuller has more than 30 years of bank finance, treasury, risk, and management experience in a diverse range of member-owned and listed companies, which have equipped him with the skills to develop strong teams, cultivate productive relationships with stakeholders, and enhance financial and operating performance. With his fresh perspective and innovative approach, Byron's leadership will be instrumental in driving QBANK's growth and success in the years ahead.

Holding a Master of Applied Finance, Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Business. I am a CPA and Senior Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

KELLY SMITH

Chief Financial Officer

With more than 15 years’ experience in the banking and financial services industry, Kelly joined QBANK in 2011 as the Finance Manager, later being appointed as Chief Financial Officer, in 2019. Kelly is responsible for the accounting and treasury functions of the bank and maintaining integrity of financial information. Kelly has a keen focus on ensuring a strong, sustainable business for members.

Kelly is a CPA qualified accountant and holds several qualifications which include a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) and Graduate Diploma of Mathematics with Distinction.

RACHEL SIMPSON

DIP Lending (Financial Services)

Chief Credit and Operations Officer

With over 22 years’ experience in banking and financial services, Rachel is a skilled industry leader. She joined QBANK in 2015 and played a key role in QBANK’s strategic initiative of implementing the third-party broker channel. Since then, Rachel has held leadership roles across various departments including Distribution & Partnerships and Credit & Lending Operations. She now brings her experience together as Chief Credit & Operations Officer.

Rachel is focused on improving the member experience and enhancing our value proposition. Driving change, implementing new strategies, processes and technologies that will positively impact QBANK and our Members.

KARLA DAY

Chief Technology and Transformation Officer

Having built a successful career in mutual banking spanning 30 years, Karla joined QBANK in 2022 bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked across all areas of banking.

A proven ICT professional, coupling comprehensive technology and systems knowledge with businesses solutions, Karla has been instrumental in leading and delivering strategic, business, and operational change during her career.  A passionate and empowering leader, Karla leads the Information Technology team at QBANK focusing on exceptional service, collaboration, and innovation.  Karla has also completed a diploma in Project Management.

BERNARD LUTON

Company Secretary since 15 September 2023.

Bernard Luton is an experienced lawyer, company secretary, and compliance and risk management specialist. He was formerly the Company Secretary and Chief Risk Officer for Move Bank, has held senior management roles in the legal and compliance areas of Queensland Country Bank and Credit Union Australia, and was the owner of a private law firm.

Elisha Cahill is a seasoned business leader with over 20 years of experience in professional human resources, specialising in national and global strategic and operational HR management. With a background across multiple industries, including financial services, professional services, and government, Elisha brings extensive business and commercial expertise to QBANK. With success in high growth business and complex operating environments, Elisha is passionate about driving culture, leading and building high-performing teams to meet organisational strategic goals. An inclusive leader at heart, she is committed to fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
